To set up an email account from an Internet Service Provider (ISP)
When you set up an email account, your phone will try to automatically find correct settings for your email account. The email account may be one that's provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or it might be another IMAP or POP email account from another provider.

From Start, flick left to the Applications list, press Settings and then press Email & accounts.

Press Add an account > Other account.

Press the Email address box and then type your email address.

Press the Password box and then type your password.

Press Sign in.

Do one of the following, based on if the correct settings are found automatically:

If the correct settings are found, wait for your phone to finish synchronising and then use your email. You've finished setting up your account on your phone.

If the settings aren't found, make sure both the user name and password are correct and then press Try again. If the settings still aren't found, press Advanced and then enter the settings manually using the steps in the next procedure.

The following is a list of settings that you'll need to know beforehand when the correct email account settings can't be found automatically. Often, you can find this information on the provider's website.

The email account type (POP or IMAP)

The incoming email server address cp##.cp.pre.net.au

The outgoing (SMTP) email server address cp##.cp.pre.net.au (## is the number of the server your account is stored on)

To enter email account settings manually (advanced)

In Advanced Setup, press Internet email account.

Carry out the following:
For this field Do this Account name
Type a descriptive name for the account.
This is the account name that will appear on your phone.
Your name
Type your name.
This is the name that will appear for the email messages that you send from this account.
Incoming email server
Type the name of the incoming email server for your account.
The incoming email server name typically includes IMAP or POP (depending on the type of email account).
You can usually get this information from your provider's website.
Example incoming email server address: cp##.cp.pre.net.au
Account type
Press POP3 or IMAP4, depending on the type of email account.
User name
Type your user name for that email account.
Password
Type your password for that account.
Outgoing (SMTP) email server
Type the name of the outgoing email server for your account.
The outgoing email server name typically includes SMTP.
Example outgoing email server address: cp##.cp.pre.net.au
Outgoing server requires authentication
Verify that the setting is correct for the account you're setting up.
Use the same user name and password for sending email
Verify that the setting is correct.

Press Advanced settings and then do the following:

Verify that the setting is correct for your account.
Require SSL for outgoing mail
Verify that the setting is correct for your account.
Downloading new content
Press the setting for how often you want your phone to check the email server for new email.
Download email from
Press a download option based on when email was sent.

Press Sign in.
