Configuring MX Records for SpamExperts Spam Filter Print

  • 1

If Precedence manages your DNS, then we will configure your MX records for you as soon as your SpamExperts Spam Filtering service is activated.

If the DNS for your domain is managed by a provider other than Precedence, then you will need to update the MX records on the domain yourself. Please only do this after your service has been activated.

You would do this by:

  1. Logging in to your DNS provider
  2. Removing any existing MX records associated with your domain
  3. Adding new MX records as follows:
PriorityDestination
10 smx1.pre.net.au
20 smx2.pre.net.au
30 smx3.pre.net.au

Note: SpamExperts keeps a record of what your MX records were at the time the service was activated in the event you cancel your service, but we recommend you make a note yourself of what your current MX records are, for your own safe-keeping.
