Pointing a domain name registered elsewhere to our nameservers Print

  • 0

If you have a web hosting account with Precedence, but would prefer to register your domain name with another company, you can use the domain name with your Precedence web hosting account by changing the nameservers and then configuring the domain name within your cPanel account.

Nameservers

Login to your domain registrar and configure the nameservers to the following:

  1. ns1.cp.pre.net.au
  2. ns2.cp.pre.net.au
  3. ns3.cp.pre.net.au
  4. ns4.cp.pre.net.au

Domain Parking

If you wish for the domain name to point to your current website, and/or be available for email accounts, then you should park the domain name.

To do this, login to your cPanel (by visiting http://YOURDOMAIN.COM.AU/cpanel), and go to Parked Domains, and add the new domain name.

New Website

If you wish to have a new, different website at your domain name, then you should contact us to arrange support for an add-on domain to your existing web hosting account, or the establishment of a new web hosting account for the new website.
