Restarting the Backup Engine:
To restart the Backup engine, follow these steps:
- Open the Backup Software.
- Double-click the Backup Software's logo in the upper right corner.
- In the text input area at the very bottom of the Backup Software desktop, type: restart
- Press Enter.
Windows - Stopping and Starting the Backup Engine:
- Click Start, open command prompt
- To stop type
- net stop CrashPlanService
- To start type
- net start CrashPlanService
Linux - Stopping and Starting the Backup Engine:
The start / stop script is stored in the crashplan/bin directory
- To stop type
- /usr/local/crashplan/bin/CrashPlanEngine stop
- To start type
- /usr/local/crashplan/bin/CrashPlanEngine start
Mac - Stopping and Starting the Backup Engine:
- Go to Go > Utilities > Terminal
- To stop, enter the following command:
- sudo launchctl unload /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.crashplan.engine.plist
- To start (load):
- sudo launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.crashplan.engine.plist
