Creating a Google Account Print

  • 7

To access Google Analytics, set up a Google Business Profile, and take advantage of other Google services relating to your website, you need a Google Account.

You may already have a Google Account if you use other Google services. If so, you may use that Google Account rather than creating a new one. However, we recommend always having a Google Account that is associated with an email address using your business domain name, rather than, say, a Gmail email address—this is because whilst you may forgot or lose access to a Gmail email address, your own email address at your domain name can always be recovered provided you keep your domain registered.

If you need to set up a new Google Account, go to https://accounts.google.com/NewAccount, then follow the instructions. When it asks "How you'll sign it", click the "Use your existing email" link and enter your business email address, so you don't inadvertently sign up for a Gmail email address at the same time.

If you suspect you already have a Google Account that you use for other services, but are not sure how to access it, visit https://accounts.google.com/, and if it presents you with a login form, click the "Need help?" link to be taken to password recovery options.
